Located in downtown Toronto, CN Tower stands at over 1800 feet. It’s a fixture of Toronto’s skyline as well as a national symbol of pride for Canadians. The CN originally stood for Canadian National, the name of the railway company that built the tower.
Once the tallest free-standing structure in the world, it’s now regulated to being just the tallest free-standing structure in the Americas. Even so, the tower provides visitors with an amazing view. Every year two million people ride the elevator to the top of the tower to see that view.
Now that the tower is owned by the government, the CN stands for Canada’s National, as in Canada’s National Tower.
